Labor Day Meatless Monday: Fresh Guacamole Recipe

Fresh, homemade guacamole is a perfect addition to any Labor Day celebration.

Not only is this vegan party favorite delicioso, guacamole is good for you. Fresh veggies pack this recipe full of vitamins and minerals while main ingredient avocados are a great source of healthy fats and potassium.

Plus, this easy receta only takes 15 minutes to prepare, so you can spend more of your holiday with familia and friends.


Labor Day Fresh Guacamole Recipe


  • 4 avocados
  • 1 red onion, minced
  • 1 large tomato, chopped
  • 1 bunch cilantro, chopped
  • 1 lime
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • pepper to taste
  • optional: 2 sweet bell peppers, 2 spicy peppers (jalapeños, serranos, or habaneros)


  1. Cut avocados in half and scoop contents into a large mixing bowl. Leave 2-3 pits in the mixture to keep the guacamole fresh.
  2. Mash avocado with a fork or wooden spoon. Fold in chopped onion, sweet and spicy peppers, cilantro, and salt and pepper. Squeeze the lime over the mixture and continue to stir. Add tomatoes last.
  3. Serve and enjoy!
